Leroy Sané

Mario is a cult hero. He was part of us wiping smirks off faces and gloried in our rise, poking a metaphorical finger in the eye of those who celebrated our failings. I will always love him but you can add him to the list of players who will never achieve what they could have.

Leroy went from a very good team to a great team. How he, his agent, and his family ever thought he would be a regular player and starter at Bayern is beyond me. If he's not careful he'll end up like Mario.
I mean we were literally the best Prem team ever 17-19 and if not for a missed penalty against Spurs, Llorente handball or Sterling's offside goal could have won 5 trophies in a much harder league.

Part of me wonders if Pep saw this coming. Bayern pulled every trick in the book to get Sane on the cheap knowing our resistance to the transfer but deep down Pep knew the mentality of the player would always hold him back at any big club. It did seem it was the board fighting to keep him, Pep never played him regularly enough.
