Would you have Sane back?

Is that when he was starting every week and the club won the league with 100 points ? with 10 goals & 15 Assists in the league ?

He was great that season - absolutely electric.

But one incredible season doesn’t make him ‘the best winger we’ve had in the last decade’.

Just take a look at Sterling’s numbers over a much longer timescale, and come back on here to explain to me why you still think that’s a credible opinion to hold.

I mean - even in the same season you’re referencing, Sterling scored 18 in the league to Sane’s 10.

Arguably he wasn’t even the best winger in the team that season!!

Hopefully.....no doubting the potential/talent but still very raw,and about as much use as tits on a fish in regards the first team for at least 12 months.
Yeah, it was slightly tongue in cheek but Borges does have that quality that when he's on the ball, you just hold your breath slightly to see what happens next. Enormously exciting player to watch.

I think he can be brilliant, just needs the consistency and experience now.

Edozie too,has great potential.

Both are proper wingers.

Nah, not for me. I loved him when he was here but we've moved on from him and our style of play has completely changed. He wouldn't work here anymore. He was at his best for City when Pep had us focused on capitalising on second balls and forcing quick transitions. We haven't played that way since the Centurions season.

Even during the 18/19 season Pep stopped trusting him and his performances got worse every week. He started 12 of the first 19 games, then just 9 during the second half of that season. I particularly remember how bad he was against Burnley, in that 1-0 win. That was his big chance after not starting the previous 3/4 games but he was bloody rubbish and Pep deservedly hooked him on 65 mins.

By all accounts he hasn't really kicked on at Bayern, or even got back to the levels he showed during the 17/18 season with us. He's posting decent figures but, like, it's the Bundesliga and he plays for Bayern. Getting 15 goals a season as a forward is sort of expected.

He's getting in the Germany team nowadays but you have to wonder if being left out of the squad in 2018 affected his career thereafter. He definitely left City because it seemed like he would never get picked if he stayed in England, but going to Bayern hasn't exactly been the making of him. I do wonder if that knee injury just completely did him in. Laporte hasn't really been the same since getting the same injury - players rarely are.

Would much rather see Borges get a crack at some point even though I really like Sane the more I think about it he can do one not that Pep would take him back anyway... Never go back to someone who you gave the best of times though only to be dismissed by them later on as a stepping stone, he knows he's messed up bigtime especially in the absence of a proper striker here it could've been his gig for a good while but I'm sure the 300k+ a week helps out.

Our fans should tell themselves he's not that world class prospect that he once was those flaws in his game should be already ironed out at his age, players like Palmer although on the right he could genuinely be more exciting than Sane I'm not saying that with blue tinted specs, due to Cole's unpredictable style of play with defenders not being sure what he'll do next and knowing our style we need players like that to keep the opposition on edge, to make them always think with fear about what they can do as it's this that tires opponents mentally... I honestly think he'll be an absolute nightmare for defenders as he matures here with Phil and other lads who've learned the City way in their early development.

I'd sooner see Borges on the left like I say I'm not 100% Borges will even stay long enough to get a crack here in the team but hope he stays, just wouldn't shock me if another team poaches him with promises of game time but I think he's potentially very explosive like Sane with added power even if he's not quite the same dazzling dribbler. We've also got Edozie and Barrington plus Mebude all quite exciting youngster's out wide who like to make things happen and are being indoctrinated into our relentless style, will they be good enough we can't be sure but it's still better to gamble on their promise surely than return for a failed prospect, so no don't go back for a player who is 27 halfway through next season that's only shown regression in the past 3 years without consistent game time and Pep's influence, give youth a chance and yes there's always slight room for sentiment but the fact is his inconsistencies have grown with age, that really shouldn't be the case for him and for a club like ours that is unacceptable in any of our transfer target's career progression no matter how talented or fondly remembered they're.

Sane played great in the first half of the season. He did not in the second half - but none of the Bayern players really did. We do not even know what changed but all of our offensive players really underperformed in the last 4 months. Nagelsmann made tactical switches that just did not work out and with it somehow destroyed the confidence of the players, too.

Do you know what’s behind Lewandowski’s sudden decision to depart?
