Those saying Leroy was lazy are chatting absolute bollocks with all due respect, some fans on here once a player leaves and doesn't do as well elsewhere can't wait to get their knives out on here imagining major weaknesses or poor form throughout their stay that never happened.
I loved Leroy too but I wouldn't take him back either that ship set sail long ago, just my opinion but I think he's made his bed and he's approaching 27 no better now with less confidence than when he was aged 22 plus stylistically we've also moved on from back then, the system is totally different from his time here with different roles asked of a winger and in my view we have a better squad we profile our signings to fit in with that plan.
There's no room at the inn, there's no way he's coming back with Foden Grealish Mahrez Palmer Alvarez Bernardo and others capable of playing out wide, we've gone down the more creative playmaker route out wide rather than outright pacey dribblers as a means to keep possession for better retention I believe, and our central areas are more industrious too to better join attacks or quicker pressing if we lose possession it's totally different than Sane's time here, with Haaland's arrival it'll be more important than ever to keep the ball and although Leroy is no doubt one of the most exciting wingers around at running towards defences taking them on, he also definitely loses possession more than anyone we currently have in those areas now and I don't think he fits anymore in Pep's mind just like Raheem didn't, he's a ruthless manager Pep and makes the difficult choices that need to be made and there's not much room for sentiment if a player has stagnated or is struggling too much to adapt with new tactics that's why he's the best.
