The fullback did very well but Sane scored one & had a pen shout in spite of that. He usually looks the best player on the pitch to me these days, in any given game. Not necessarily in actual contribution, but in potential contribution. He carries a huge threat, all the time, that something is going to happen.
Ironically, I thought it was the Chelsea game, when he played wingback, which brought him up a level.
Someone like Dzeko?Totally agree. I watched the second half back again last night and you can imagine the fear the opposition will feel every time he picks it up. That pace and willingness to go past players always put fear into me when you think of Robben, Giggs, Messi, dribbling and creating and the rate at which it is coming off for him at the moment is frightening.
I hate this talk of "in a few years when he is scoring 30 a season" what a ridiculous claim, by all means I do hope so but if he continues the form he is in now for the next few years then we have an outstanding, irreplaceable, world class player. Talking of who can improve and in particular in terms of contributing goals I think we need to look at the likes of Silva (6), De Bruyne (5), Nolito (6) and finding an aerial threat from set pieces.
