Not read the whole thread so titanic moment but why the hatred from Leroy at the corner from the Hoff fans? Which he gave back after the free kick.

There's a growing bit of needle between Hoff and Schalke, might be that.

I'm going to do an 'I told you so' regarding his striking of a free kick.

As I've said before, I recon he should be aiming for Ronaldo kind of level in that regard, as he has the same kind of raw ability.

He will probably never be as good with his head, as we would see it starting to happen already, but imo he should actually become the same level, striking a ball & it's upto Pep to get him there.

That free kick is from practice, no doubt about it, so that's a good sign.

I agree with you, but less because it lets him down and more because he never wants to use it (because he knows it is his weakness).

That first half chance against Chelsea where he was ten yards out with the ball on his right boot, and really only the keeper to beat, comes to mind. If he had felt comfortable shooting with his right that is probably a goal (and changes the game, as it would have capitalised on our dominance up until that point). But, as he was weary of using it at all, he tried to get it back on his left, the defenders closed, and the chance passed him (and us) by.

I’ve said several times he is a future World Player of the Year, and that will most certainly come to fruition if he works on strength and control with his right foot.

I agree & he should work on his heading too, as he's a big unit & with all that power in his legs, he should be able to outjump most people.
