The tweets attached are deleted and I don't see anything from StatCity in regards to Leroy. So just twitter shite then?

We’re best when they’re both playing. And we’re so much better on the break. We’ve looked really confused on breaks so far this year.

His absence today is no concern at all.

His amazingly poor form this season is a major concern. Did loew’s snub fuck his self confidence so badly that he’s still not over it ?
This. He should have been the one player who went into the season absolutely firing. Instead, we have a player that doesn't look up to speed yet.

His performances so far these season have been poor. His training isn't good enough at the moment either.
Not being picked for Germany has messed with his head.

I’m a bit gutted, he’s my favourite young player in the squad, hope he gets himself back playing soon

That would be the easy conclusion to draw based on the loose collection of facts we're all privy too but perhaps there is more there than we are aware

Hope he gets back in soon. Pep seemed to have a bit of a leash on the full backs yday to cover a counter attack. That meant a lot of work for Silva, Sterling and Mahrez and the latter was yet again not up to standard. Too much trickery and not enough end product. We didn't switch him to the left either.

Silva had to do a lot and could have done with Bernardo to help pull the strings from the start.

It's simple really, Pep prefers Mendy + Sterling to Delph + Sane

Seems to have Mendy at his best the winger infront of him needs to be tucked more inside to give him the space to get into and it's that space that Sane usually takes up as he doesn't have a right foot so doesn't cut inside.

I just don’t think he works hard enough, and Pep’s had enough and is trying to get him to change. It’s up to Leroy now. Work hard and stay, or see your arse and leave. Pep wouldn’t want a player that doesn’t work hard, so he’ll see doing this to him as a risk worth taking. It’s like a test.

Based on what? He's averaged 7 and a half minutes per game so far. He had a shit 13 minute cameo at Wolves, but other than that there's been nothing to base your assertion on. I do recall him steaming past the Huddersfield right back to set up our 6th goal at the Etihad a fortnight ago, mind.....

+ the Charity shield + Preseason.
His head is in a bad place.

He didn’t have a WC so he should have come back to preseason training fit and firing - it seems that he has let himself and the squad down

Hard not to be a bit anxious

He has the ability to be top 5 in the world, but seems to still from patches of being phenomenal to being pretty useless which is worrying for a player who may be young but isn't a teenager

He needs to be back in the squad though, and I hope Pep realises that 433 is the way we are gonna retain the title as 352 just isn't really clicking, and there is no one better suited for that LW spot than Sane

Players who went to the world cup wouldn't let fitness levels drop - but he looks okay to me, just Pep proving a point again.

I don't disagree although, again, I am fairly sure we don't know everything that is going on behind closed doors. Just a strange approach Pep seems to have taken, this is new so I am very curious to see how this plays out. Ideally, the player comes around - especially a young talent like Leroy. However, it wouldn't be the first situation like this where it does not come correct and a move away is warranted. It's early of course but its a decidedly different course of action than what I have seen Pep take before.

The Yaya situation with Seluk calling Pep out in the press was much more straightforward since they went public first and Guardiola had little choice but to lay the law down. We'll see what comes next but these sort of situations have a bad tendency to spin out of control when social media etc. are factored in

He’s started poorly last 2 seasons so maybe there is something in him taking awhile to get up to speed.

No doubt about it a on form Leroy is an incredible asset and Pep knows if we’re going to win trophies this will be key.
