Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

Leroy played well yesterday and on that showing deserves a place in team. That mazy run in the 1st half was superb and yes he blows hot and cold but more often than not there is an end product and he scores or creates a goal/assist. Slightly concerned Pep did not acknowledge him yesterday when he was subbed, we need him to sign this contract extension ASAP.

He also scores big goals in big games. 4 in critical games against Liverpool (the third of which of course was famously disallowed) - and how crucial will that last one have been if we lift the title in a few weeks?

Just a stupid comparison. Why don't you just think for a bit, 1)We have 4 players competing for two positions 2) It's pretty clear Pep's been keeping him fresh for the run in and 3) he's 23 and occasionally inconsistent.

The Balotelli comparison is just ridiculous, over the course of his three years here, Sane has never across lazy or a walking time bomb like Balotelli.
The comparison was intentional - not in that Sane is a time-bomb off the field - he's obviously not - but in that Sane doesn't apply himself enough to realize his full potential.

For example - against Crystal Palace - Sane showed the ability he has by gliding past several defenders and creating a shot on goal. World class talent. But the ability/potential - does not consistently match on-field performances. To my eyes, he's simply not giving his all in many games in which he features - like Balotelli.

Moreover the point about him not being in the German WC squad - and not being the first choice LW at City - is apt - and is due to lack of full application on the field, and perhaps in training.

I don't think he'll be at City next year. Nowhere the attitude you expect from a player as talented as Leroy. City's future are Bernardo, KDB ans Sterling.

If he isn’t at City next year, it’s our loss, not his. He would walk into any side in the world, apart from the one he is currently at. Every big club in Europe will be after him, if he is available. I could stomach him being on the bench, if I was watching greatness week in, week out from every other player in the starting XI but David Silva has been woeful for months. Why Bernardo isn’t playing central, so we can play both Sane and Sterling is beyond me.

Don’t get this shit about his ‘attitude’. Maybe it’s something behind closed doors but I can’t think of a single game where he’s not tried his best. He can be inconsistent, but so can any 22 year old winger. He’s going to real double figures for goals and assists (again) with limited game time. I think his G&A per 90mins is actually better than last season. We’re going to sorely regret it if he leaves.
