Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

Has Leroy signed a new contract yet? If not how long has he got on his existing deal? It looked very frosty between him and Pep when he came off today. I hope we don’t lose him

Sane is a Ballotelli-esque player. Full of potential - but seemingly incapable of applying himself fully. He's not got nearly as much baggage as Balloelli - but the comparison is still apt.

In spite of his brilliance and obvious world class ability - he managed to work himself out of a position in the German World Cup squad. Moreover, he's not capable of locking down an always-starting role when fit in our squad.

The only thing stopping Sane from being one of the best footballers in his decade - lies between his ears.
Haha nothing like mario

Because you got carried away by his half-decent performance today against a spineless Palace and you are therefore writing off the persona non grata.
He’s got the most assists in the PL since the start of last season. No one is getting carried away, he’s simply far better than Mahrez has been at City. Then again, I’d run him close.

Up there with one of worst posts ive seen on bluemoon.

Listening to a group of palace fans on the train back yesterday and they were all just talking about Sane, I thought he had a good solid game but nothing like what we know he can do. I think Wan-Bissaka did a fairly good job on him but he still showed his class for the assist and I think other small parts of his game are because of his lack of game sharpness.

Just look such a better team with and Sterling playing. Great workrate,standard goal or assist when he starts. Was up against a very good right back today too whereas Spurs don't have a good defensive right back. Simply put even that first goal is not on if we don't play Sane.

Wan-Bissaka is a top prospect but Leroy gave him the biggest chasing he’s had all season.
Really hope Pep gets his point over enough to make Sane as good as he can be but doesn’t overdo it to the extent that he wants out.

Look - Sane is obviously extremely gifted as a player - his dribbling, pace, youth and shooting are already in evidence. He's - potentially - a fantastic player.

And yet - he's fallen out with Low in Germany - and Pep doesn't always start him when he's fit.

So... answer this - if Sane is without blemish - why didn't he start - much less even make the squad - for Germany in the world cup past - and why, doesn't the best manager in world football - Pep - automatically include Sane in his lineups when Sane is fit?
===
I rather think the opposite of your post - I think that you've not given enough thought as to why Sane has trouble starting in his club/country sides.

Moreover, there's an implicit derogatory attack on Pep in what you've posted - namely, you imply that Pep is an idiot for not starting Sane whenever he's fit.

On that matter in particular - I submit that you're on thin ground. Pep has his reasons for not always starting Sane - and, so too, does Low.
===
In closure - I turn your remark against you - namely...

"Up there with one of [sic] worst posts ive [sic] seen on [sic]bluemoon."
===
As an aside - racking up 3 "sic's" in a single sentence may well be a record.

I suppose the reaction to your Balotelli comparison was reflecting not so much the points about Leroy's personality, but your wording IMO.

Low and Pep have completely different reasons, please don't mix them up.

Low's decision was based on his own merit to stick to his old buddies and that he didn't want to drop young Brandt AGAIN,
so Leroy was out of the WC 2018 despite having a stunning season at City.

Pep is a perfectionist and wants to further develope Leroy's great talents, also his attitude and workrate.
Like KDB said in his open words on the other thread, Pep said to him he can be a top5 player,
and I suppose Pep will have a similar stance in Leroy's case.

I get your point that Leroy has to commit to Pep's demands.
Just leave Balotelli out of the equation and all is fine. :)

Just a stupid comparison. Why don't you just think for a bit, 1)We have 4 players competing for two positions 2) It's pretty clear Pep's been keeping him fresh for the run in and 3) he's 23 and occasionally inconsistent.

The Balotelli comparison is just ridiculous, over the course of his three years here, Sane has never across lazy or a walking time bomb like Balotelli.
