Les Miserables sounds like a character from the Fast Show about a northern stand up comedian with depression set in 1978.

I’ve seen Les Mis at the theatre a few times, there are two songs that bring a tear to my eye every time I see the musical. This one, Bring Him Home, as it brings back memories of my Dad and the only time I ever saw him with a tear in his eye was when we were watching this singer Colm Wilkinson sing this song on a variety show on the telly. My Dad was a strong, Northern man
who had fought in Burma and India in WWII but this got to him. The other song is just so moving and is brilliantly sung by Anne Hathaway.

The original Victor Hugo novel is very good, the stage play though is overblown shite IMO.
