Resign and go where? Arsenal? Utd? Chelsea? Liverpool? Villa? Spurs? WHU?.... Gollum's bluffing because I can't see where he's got to go unless he wants to become the new Geordie Messiah or start all over again at Hull.

Even all the pundits barring the mega-pleb Collymore are telling him to give up and sell.....

Pride comes before a humiliating fall!! Having said that Lescott is still an Everton player so unfortunately they stiall have the upper hand..... Just!!

I just hope the reports of us offering £18m plus Dunne is true....

Pompey?

Everton exclusive – Moyes future on the line!

In a disturbing and unsettling twist to Everton’s preparation for the new season, our sources can sensationally reveal that David Moyes is considering dispensing with his own services as Manager of the club just one game into the new season.

Moyes is said to be frustrated at his inability to motivate the team effectively for the big season opener against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday. A club source stated “As everyone knows, David Moyes makes all the decisions at Everton – its his club and he’s the boss. He’s absolutely fuming about Saturday, and is beginning to question whether he’s the right person to take the team forward during this crucial season.”

After the 6-1 demolition, Moyes was heard absent-mindedly mumbling to no-one in particular “There was a manager sacked after one game when his team conceded seven. We’ve lost six, so I’m not immune to that”.

We understand that Moyes has scheduled a make or break crisis summit with himself for this afternoon, at which he will be looking to hear what he has to say by way of an explanation for Saturday’s humiliating drubbing, and will be wanting to hear himself provide a clear, structured and impassioned strategy for the season ahead.

Our source sensationally revealed that, if Moyes does not hear himself provide the right answers and display the requisite determination he feels he should be showing to manage a club of Everton’s stature, he could be willing to dispense with his own services as early as this afternoon. Moyes is even understood to have gone as far as to have lined up a potential successor for the hotseat at Everton, the club he bought in March 2002 whilst then Owner of Championship contenders Preston North End.

We can today sensationally reveal that Moyes has entered preliminary talks with himself to take over from himself as Everton head honcho should today’s meeting not provide the answers from himself that he himself is looking for.

After Lescott's performance on Sunday I'm sure Moyes was straight on the phone saying "So uh....£20m for Joleon, Mark?"

It does appear to of gone quiet on a further bid for Lescott, would this suggest that we have actualy been invited to the table to thrash a deal out?
I don't think right now Everton(as a club)are in a fit state to invite anyone to do anything, they seem in total meltdown. I guess all that's left to do is hand out the marshmallows and start toasting ;-)

To be honest, if Moyes manages to keep Lescott for another season fair play to him, he's not going to resign and Lescott's not going to refuse to play for Everton and everything will settle down. The media furrore around these transfer dealings have been ridiculous like we have been doing something illegal by bidding for him and that Everton should seek legal action. Similarly Lescott saying he wants to leave and Moyes saying he's not leaving - I'm sure loads of players and managers have been in this situation. I was hopeful that we could get Lescott before the season started but the longer it goes on the less I'm bothered about it actually going through. It might just unsettle our team. Anyone else feel the same?
