Somethings really is bubbling about Barton on the EFC forum!!
"Jimmy Lumsden told my mate in that bar in Seattle that we had £10 mil and Barton was a real possibility.I didn't bother posting it then because we both thought Lumsden was just winding him up.Just what he told him, make of it what you will but he definately said it to him. This is the first time since then that I've heard anything else on the matter.Let's just hope it's bullshit"
"Barton was discussed again at Finch Farm last week, but no offer made. I am presuming the "no's" managed to sway Moyes against it - I hope they did anyway, I hate that little shitbag and although I don't agree with the boos that Lescott got, Barton would get a barrage of abuse off me if he ever joined us."
"Barton would be beyond desperate and disgusting. He hasn't played at a high level for a few seasons and his behavior would drag team character and morale into the gutter he happily wallows in. Alan Smith is bad enough. But Joey Barton is catastrophic."
"Well that makes sense. One of them wants to play for us, one of them doesn't - you boo the one who doesn't. His past would have nothing to do with Everton if he joined - if he left at that door then I wouldn't boo him."
"But Barton's a thug, probably even a bit of a sociopth, mate. An open arms welcome to them is just an invitation to punch you in the gut -- then stub a ciggie out in your eye. Look what he did to Shearer when he put his faith in him last season. Look what he's done to fans and his own teammates. There is something fundamentally wrong with the fella."
"To me this is pretty clear...... DM has set the Lescott 'issue' as a stand for principles ie he doesnt like the behaviour of City and the way they have acted. IF, then he signs someone with the background of Barton, well then his own 'principles' should be called into question!"
I actually feel a little sorry for them now..... But I'd feel a lot more sorry for them if they hurried up and took Dunne and the £18m and allowed Lescott to leave.
