No matter what we pay, I hope that people wont use the price against him.

Lets not have another Jo situation, where the boo-boys get on his back after a few weeks.

Agreed, it's not his fault that it looks as if we've overpaid for him.
I think he'll settle in pretty quickly & be a decent buy for us.

Its not £24 million and no other player is involved apparently.

Ian Cheeseman was saying on GMR yesterday the fee is £20 million rising to £22 million with addons. He didnt mention any players as part of the deal.

He was the PA at city back at maine road and is well known to be "IN" at the club. Now works for BBC GMR, very reliable I will take what he is saying over the gutter press anyday. He broke this hours before anyone else. He was talking about it being a done deal mid day yesterday and they were talking postmatch about his non city value being £12 - £14 million and us paying £6 million over the odds, city price to get the deal done etc.

We wont be paying £24 millon its complete bollocks from everton trying to talk up the fee to keep their fans happy.

Doing things the right way as ever:

This is a mint line up. Strong in every area. And best of all it has the two city boys right in the heart of it.

Yeah just the all round feeling from MH quotes yesterday aswell. I like the fact we won't pay ott for him aswell, which is what Gollum was after all the time

Anything over 10-12 million is over the top for Lescott mate, never played for a top 4 club, never played in the Champions League and not first choice for his country. Everton have done extremely well out of us and if Moyes hadn't been so intent on trying to prove a point Everton would have taken our hands off first time round. I hope Lescott comes good for us, but we've already paid well over the odds for a player of his ability. His goals have added about 5 million to his pricetag and with the attacking players at our disposal it'd be nice to think scoring goals are the least of our worries.

I mean the fact City said they won't go over 18m and stuck to the gun's, and not give in to Everton's stupid demands. Partly agree, if players like Glen Johnson are going for 18m then Lescott is going to be around the same he can play 2 postition's aswell and score's a decent amout of goals for a CB which add's to it.

Imagine if we got Robben and got him in that side instead of SWP. That would be an unbelivable forward line. Nothing to match that in the prem.
