I sure as hell wouldn't pay 30m for him, but I would leave the offer on the table while I worked on other deals, if for no other reason than it see if Everton get cold feet and/or to unsettle the player.

Lescott isn't worth 12 million but Kenwright seems to think he's worth tripple that.

yh but it doesnt matterr m8 we have lodes of money

I'd rather let Everton go bust and pick a player from Europe for a sensible fee.

Yeah he is half decent but be honest would any of us be that bothered about signing him if people like DSOB and pabbers ( no offence to you guys) werent on here bigging him up and saying that he wouldnt be interested in coming to us. it almost seems like its more a case of we can get anyone than signing him because he is that good player.

There is plenty of defenders out there up to his quality and we can go for them if everton want to play silly beggers. We have already shown in this window that we will pay fair prices for players and we wont go over the top for anyone and we will walk away, so if everton want to be unrealistic thats up to them they can keep him and have no money to strengthen other areas and have another year of going for fifth again or they can take a fair price for a half decent player and look to push on.

I am not criticising the player and would be more than willing to meet everton half way but regardless of the market or anything else defenders will never be worth more than attackers, ferdinand being the exception, 20 m is more than fair to both parties. Terry is england captain, twice title winning captain, marketable beyind belief, lescott quality defender but nothing more and there is plenty of quality defenders to be had.

Going for fifth would still be a success for you mate, like it would have been for the last 25 years.

Lescott is better than all but 3 Centre backs in the prem, if Johnson is worth £17 mil, then Lescott is worth atleast that.

If your aim is to get in the top 4, then you are deeming Lescott as a top 4 player....then pay the price, or move on.

I love Lescott, but he wants to move then fair enough, cant really blame him, but I would be more píssed off if we flogged Jagielka or Rodwell.

A player is worth what a team is willing to pay...lets so how much you want him.

If you dont get him, you will prob spend loads on some other top player, and still finish top 6 anyway.

£30 million is a joke. For me he is a good player but nothing special.. Would rather pay £12 on upson that spend £20+ on Lescott.
