The lack of balls on this guy is frightening.

Lets be honest Everton are in a shit bargainin position if he puts in a written transfer request and starts moaing to the press.

They only have 2 fit central defenders at the moment and no money to spend. Does anyone apart from Lescott honestly believe they will bench him or refuse to sell. What they are going to do, completely fuck themselves just to shaft Lescott. I dont think so , they would only have one fit central defender !

The way he is playing this is so stupid its almost beyond belief !

When the player kicks up a stink they always end up being sold ! Be a man show some balls we are talking about his new contract being worth 10s of millions more than he is currently on. Short term pain for long term gain !

True but he can make it very difficult for Moyes and for Everton if he so chooses thus making it much more likley for the deal to happen !

This is normally what is done if the player really wants to move (Barry, Tranny, Given, Bellamy etc etc etc etc....)

He has already pissed everyone off at Everton big time, fans moyes..... going that extra mile will make little or no difference now if the deal happens or not surely people can see that ?

the problem is that moyes can say no, you can rot in the reserves in a world cup year. lescott could break his contract and claim 'sporting just cause' but this has never been attempted before, and the clause was intended to support clubs, not players. city can't sign him unless everton agree to sell. he can't force everton to sell him. normally the manager would not stand in someone's way, but moyes is behaving irrationally. there is no guarantee whatsoever that moyes will accept the request.

Ok Moyes is a prick we all know that but with the facts in hand do you really think he would bench him and leave the team with only one fit dedicated central defender and no money to bring in cover ?

They are a prem club that are meant to be playing in europe and challenging at the top of the league. Irrational or not hes not going to fuck their entire season just to get back at Lescott for demanding a transfer. With what they have avaialble at the moment it would be impossible for him to drop Lescott even if he wanted to regardless of what he does. He has already pissed of everyone big time at Everton anyway.

He might have to do a Gallas and threaten to score an own goal if they won't let him go haha!

dontshootme, whats the feeling your end on this now mate?

I think at this stage most people expect it to happen, but that's as much due to the expectance that City will pay whatever it takes.

Moyes is certainly capable of just saying no if he doesn't like the offer. All this talk of "what's the point of keeping an unhappy player" is pretty crazy, Moyes doesn't treat his players with kiddy gloves. Most big money signings have spent significant periods out of the first team (Yakubu, Yobo, Jagielka, Johnson, Beattie, Baines have all been dropped for extended periods), so it's not like Moyes is an O'Neill type who keeps everybody happy. Having said that, most people would agree that Everton are just waiting for City to meet their valuation.

Presume you are an Everton fan. Lets just say he puts in a transfer request and Moyes is a lunatic and sticks him in the reserves on £45 k a week. No money to bring in a replacement.

WHo plays with Yobo in defence until the new year when Jagiekla is fit ? You dropped in that young midfielder for the last two friendlies and by all accounts hes been shocking and cant play there.

Would he stick Felleni in there ?

The bottom line is if Robinho could force a move from the mighty Madrid who could afford to let him rot in the stands then Lescott could do it from small time Everton who havent got a pot too piss in and cant afford to not play Lescott, if the players head isnt there, there better off taking the cash and buying a replacement or two as they have already lost him.

will you stop with that! he can't break his contract, and moyes has no obligation to sell him, or even to pick him if he doesn't move.

he does not need to break his contract but he can ask for permission to talk to us and he can make a transfer REQUEST - then IF everton turn it down he stays but he must at least ask otherwise Moyes will do nowt

He could write a letter requesting a transfer to kenwright but looking a bit tight as to whether he could get this done by the end of the month according to my sources
