Nothing ridiculous about it. You want him. Everton don't want to sell. Whether you find £ 22 Mill a fair price is irellevant. Everton dictate the price and you accept it or move on. Maybe you are lucky and Everton lower their asking price, I can't see it, but hey ho. It's about how much you want the player. Either cough up or find another target. Considering how much money you got, I think it's fair to say that no club will back down on asking prices.

No I dont. I think Moyes is doing the best job he can keeping his assets and getting top money. Everton aren't a small club, arguably far bigger then you, so you would think they could hold a fine preseason even if the future of one player was unsure.

There is also the aspect of sending a message out there for the next club knocking on their door regarding a player. It's a bit like Barry for us last season. We put a £ 18 Mill tag and stuck to it. We kept a good player for another season, but still got very good money for a player with only 1 year of his contract left.
And now we've sent out a message that we won't be bullied. We got enough money to withstand clubs making offers and unsettling players. And the players at the club know it, recently seen by Young's comments that he wants to stay. Maybe he will move on next season, but at least we will get our asking price because clubs now know we won't budge on it. The very same plan Everton probably have.

Where the fuck has this attitude that Everton are bigger than us come from? Your stadium is a fucking shed ffs.
lol he is a villa fan.

Re: Everton reject Lescott transfer request

When I was last at hospital, a nurse told me in no uncertain terms that I'd have to stop masturbating
I asked "Why?"
She said "Because I'm trying to examine you"

This is a good assessment of the situation on that Everton Forum.

This should be no big surprise. We are sitting here on the outside looking in. No one knows what way this situation is being handled behind closed doors. Everton & Moyes must be seen to make a stand otherwise what would the backlash not be like on here. Maybe deep down we need to sell lescott and if thats the case then we need to get as much as we can.

If we had agreed to sell lescott prior to today then first we would have to pay up the remainder of lescotts contract. Add to that what Wolves will be entitled to with sell on clauses the 18m second bid fast becomes 10m-12m. Lescott waited until now as he probably was hoping everton would have agreed to sell before now. If i am correct he wont now be entitled to the remainder of his contract being paid up as he requested a transfer. That gives us a bit more of the overall fee to spend on players and wages etc.

I dont blame him one bit. There is loyality and there is stupidity. Staying loyal to everton and earning 50% less than what you could possibly earn is stupid. How many of us would turn down the chance to earn double our current salary because the boss was nice enough to give you a job from day one. I like Lescott and think he is a class player and would prefer to keep him but Lets just sell, move on and start adding to our squad. We need five or six new players more than we need Lescott.

Bloody hell.a sensible scouser

Its not a case of 'bending over' its a case of this is getting ridiculous, City want him, he wants to leave and 22mil is a very very fair in fact its very north of fair so what is the hold up. I dont want City to Bully anyone but i also dont want City paying 30mil of a decent player.

Do you not get the feeling Moyes is on an ego trip and its damaging Evertons' plans for the start of the season?

Bart, why are Everton a FAR bigger club than MCFC?
You carry on like your some leviathan of English football, youve won one trophy since the mid eighties pal and have cavorted with relegation on a number of occasions and luckily stayed up on the last day of a season.

If City do 'move on' which I would do if they dont accept £22mil it still doesnt change the fact that Lescott see City as the place he wants to play. That is why Moyes 'tactic' could be harming Everton

Going back to your Barry 'point' its differnt Villa have a billionaire owner, Everton don't, Barry had been at Villa for over 10yrs, so would have a bigger sense of loyalty,Lescott doesnt, Barry was on more money then than Lescott is now. And which ever way you want to talk up Villa and Barry they still ended up with LESS money than originally offered which is exactly what will happen with Everton uless they sell pretty sharpish and from what I can gather Everton can't afford to lose that sort of money on a player who WANTS to leave
