Jack rodwell is an outstanding talent. Probably the most talented kid of his generation. He will be immense... very much like Rio Ferdinand was at that same age.

Also i've put the players I think are better then City's players in that list. However please realise that you can have a brilliant 11 players on paper, but it doesn't mean they'll play well as a team. Might be a good idea to hold your hourses until the seasons underway before making bold statements about your team. No-one knows how they will gel.

What, a bit like Rooney you mean? Wonder where he's going to end up then? Seriously, I admire Everton and Moyes for the way your managing to be relatively successful on a shoestring, but you haven't got a prayer of competing with the big boys until you attract a major investor. You may be right about us taking time to gel, but I wouldn't mind betting we're above Everton in the table at the end of the season.

Thing is we sold Rooney for nigh on £30m (including all the add ons), we will probs sell Lescott to you for £25m roughly, and if Rodwell became as good as we think he will and he does leave we'll probs get another £20m-£25m for him.

The money we got from Rooney helped us take huge strides forwards, largely due to the way Moyes spent it. Believe me if we sell Lescott for £25m it'll take us forwards even more. A lot of people think on here that selling Lescott would see us plummet down the league but it wouldn't. Moyes would buy several quality players for that cash and strenghten the team thus moving us forwards (like with the Rooney money). If we had to sell Rodwell too, then again the money would be put to good use and move us forwards. If rumour (I shouldn't really deal in rumours seeing as i've shot people down on here for doing such things) but Manure already offered £15m for Rodwell and we turned it down so in a few years he'll be worth a hell of a lot more.

I wouldn't be convinced you'll finish above us. i think however and am happy to admit you'll certainly do a lot better then last year. Fuck spurs and Villa... I see 4th, 5th and 6th being Arsenal, Everton & Man City... not sure what order that'll be but I think it'll be close.

Yes very much! He's a little dynamo. In all fairness he gives the ball away about 10% more then a really top player, but thats usually because he's trying to make something happen.

He runs all day, he's got great skill, good vision, is tough as old boots for such a little guy, links up brilliantly with Baines, great going forward and great tracking back.

And to think we got the little fella for £2.5m!

Thing with Rodwell is he's got to fulfill that potential...he may. He may not.

Thing with selling your best players to keep yourselves competitive in the premiership is that you'll never crack the top 4 by doing that. Which is why I don't understand where all this fuckin' false bravado and confidence comes from. You've got a good manager who's good at spotting a decent bargain. A glorified Allardyce as I said earlier...

Yet somehow...out of that you want us to believe that next season you'll be up there with the likes of Arsenal...do me a favour. As I said earlier in this thread, Everton will go backwards without significant investment in their squad. To do that they will have to sell one of their best players. Even then, the full transfer fee wont end up with Moyes. Most likely half of it. Some will go to Wolves, the rest to Everton's directors.

It's time you toffee's stopped living in cloud cuckoo land...

Fair enough. Just that in my experience selling your best players is never the best policy, even if you have an excellent manager who spends the money wisely. We'll see. Just one question if I could. This obsession with Jagielka, where does it come from? Lescott is much the better player in my opinion, but I've noticed that Jags has almost god-like status with Everton fans. From what I've seen of him, he's a decent player but nothing special. I accept that you lads see much more of him than I do, so what's all the fuss about?

Yes potential is one thing and fulfilling that is another, however he seems to have the temperament to be able to do this along with the natural ability.

I disagree in part with what you say and agree in some parts too. It would be very difficult to consistently finish in the top 4 without significant investment, however its not impossible to finish in the top 4 without (as we've shown) and certainly not impossible to finish in the top 6 season after season with the odd finish in the top 4.

You mention Arsenal. We finished 12 (or was it 9) points behind them last season. Your telling me that without losing Arteta for half the season, and Yakubu for almost all of it, we wouldn't have got those extra 12 points? I'd disagree massively! To finish only 12 point behind them without having a recognised striker for large parts shows just how close we are to them. You just dont want to see it as were not as fashionable as mega bucks City now.

Selling our best players isn't a good model for progession admitedly... however selling a very good player for stupid money and probably double his real value is good business... investing that money in to an equally good player, or one with potential to be better, and then using the spare cash to strenghten other areas is a good model. Make no mistake we're taking you to the cleaners over Lescott, we wouldn't sell unless the money benefitted us more then you.

Your presuming moyes wouldn't see more then half of the money? How the hell do you know this? Stick to the facts mate, you dont know this your just adding your own (incorrect) speculative comments as filler to your argument.

You are conveniently forgetting all Arsenals injuries too.

Jagielka is immense! Ask any Everton fan and they'd probably tell you we'd rather lose Lescott then Jags. I'll get shot down by the City fans for saying this as they dont see him week in week out, but the guy is just John Terry mark 2. I've never seen a player other then Terry just be in the right place at the right time... all the time. Its just bizarre to see how many shots hit him without him having to even move... i'd swear the strikers are just aiming for him some of the time!

He's got brilliant positional sense, reads the game amazingly, throws his body in front of shots, crosses, anything thats coming his way is his no matter the pain he'll suffer from it.

His only limitation is his distibution. He doesn't have that in his game, he's not like Rio who can bring the ball out from the back and play a nice forward ball. But that really is his only flaw.

If anyone saw our games in the FA Cup against Liverpool they would have seen Jags absolutlely destroy Torres over both games. Was a real master class in defending.

Unfortunately he's not been given his chance at international level bar that one game against Spain when everyone was shocking! He will be remembered for his mistake and people will judge him on that. For me though he's a diamond of a player!
