It is really sad to see that so much in this thread is some anti CITY - anti Everton stuff

We should be common in being anti the sky 4 - we have had much that is similar in our histories

It is just simple - we have won the lottery - it could have been Everton - it could have been Villa - it could have been Newcastle etc

In so doing we have now the ability to establish a dynasty that will equal any that top level football has seen - now people / fans from other clubs might dispute this - I personally think that it is not even in question - these owners are not some Russian hobbyist or American investor - these guys are just a totally different level - I do not just mean their wealth - also their culture etc - It may not be this year - but we will win the prem within 3 and win it repeatedly for years to come

That does not make us special - we just won the lottery - it could have been another club

That said - the way we are handling ourselves is very professional and we do our business behind the scenes largely - and I really doubt that any club would do anything better at all

Now fans from other clubs might dispute this - but in doing so I think that they are just displaying the emotions of disappointment / envy / resentfulness etc which are to be expected - but he facts are:

We have not published our dealings - the only reason the Lescott issue is in the public domain is because Everton did

Same with Chelsea / Terry - Barca / Etoo

Just for a minute put yourselves in the shoes of Everton or Villa fans - and this comment is not meant as anything other than genuine

Years spent just behind the top table - but the only credible teams to break in - done so through endeavour and some good management etc (although I have a personal dislike of how Moyes seems to suck up to baconface and if I was an Everton fan that would really piss me off - I would think that he was just with us until the old twat retires - I would feel used)

Then 2009 - the Sheik buys CITY - and it is only just sinking into peoples minds what that means

Unless Everton or Villa etc win their own lottery they will now never finish ahead of CITY again - will never win the prem etc - it is hard to take

I doubt that I would feel any different in their shoes

That said - Everton fans - hate the scum - hate liverpool - but just recognise we won the lottery - ok we have been lucky but we are not the enemy - it could have been you - so please try and be a little bit happy for us

Try going on Bluekipper or the Everton board on 606 - you'll find plenty of city fans on there you tool.

Is your own club so bereft of comment worthy activity that the only subject you can discuss is City? Surely supporters of a club with a great tradition like Everton's should be able to find something to talk about, the current obsession with City must be rather embarrassing for you?

I appreciate the present isn't good for you and let's face it, the future isn't looking too hot but what about all that past you've got? There must be something else....no?

Well said that man. Everton are a good club - always have been. They have been a damn sight more succesful over the past 30 years than we have and a few on here would do well to remember that.

As you rightly say we have just struck lucky. Only time will tell whether it will end up bringing us success but there is no doubt that a few City fans are getting carried away. Top six this year will remain an excellent result but not for some I fear.

With a higher crowd comes higher expectations. The last time we sold out consistently at our new place was the first season we had there. A load of bandwagon jumpers came on board and you could spot them a mile off. They will be the ones who start booing when we aren't beating Wolves 4-0 inside twenty minutes.

The Lescott thing is getting boring now. We should be telling him that if he doesn't hand in a transfer request by the end of the day tomorrow then he can do one. That's the only thing that can happen now to break the impasse - Moyes and Kenwright can then they say have done all they can but they can't have an unhappy player on board etc etc.

Was out with some Everton mates last weekend - they said they would let him go for £20m and wish him luck. Everton and City have had years of living in shadows in their respective city's. We have more in common than the young brigade on here thinks.

Not sure how past history is relevant, doesn't excuse coming on here and acting like a knob (admittedly not all of them are, but a fair portion ...), and it doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss things based on what is happening now, not what happened in the past 30 years.

Relegated and won fuck all, yet we still come in our thousands. If Everton had suffered our recent history I wonder where they'd be now ?

its a good question. one we will never know the answer to as we havent been relegated have we?
Close though, if it wasn't for a man of the match performance from Hans Segers....

Agree with all that. Some of the better ones seem to be getting a bit of flak though as well when on the whole they seem pretty decent! And you can't deny there are a few City on here who are starting to lord it a bit - pride before a fall and all that.

mailonline(ian ladyman) seems to reckon lescott,s popped in a written transfer request today......anyone shed any light on this?????..........
