Lescott or K.Toure?

Both have had bad games this season. The difference is Kolo has had a dozen or more very good games, Lescott maybe one.

Lescott is better in the air and stronger.
Kolo is better with the ball at his feet, reading the game, tackling, and making the odd run forward to start attacks.

So against the likes of Stoke and Blackburn I wouldn't mind Lescott in his place but with Kompany already in the centre of the defence it's probably better to have Kolo partnering him most of the time.

Kolo still has a niggly knock apparently. Begrudgingly, to give Touré time to recover, I'd pick Lescott.

Kolo has been a lot better this season, he has been good for us. But a chunk of the goals we concede are from Kolo being out of position, losing out on a header, a mistake from him, him giving the ball away..

Lescott partnering Kompany last season was when we were at our defensive best. He's stronger and better in the air than Kolo but his ball distribution is quite poor.

So dunno really!

Neither Zab right back and Boateng Centre half

Great shout! Zabaleta has been our best player recently.

I think Toure would deal with Heskey's physicality better than Lescott but I guess they'll swap around the next few games. Wouldn't be surprised to see Vinnie get a rest against Villa to be honest

Heskey went off injured yesterday so doubt he will play.......I can't see Vinny being rested.

Who to start along with Vinnie? I thought Lescott did a pretty good job yesterday, gave away a silly free kick leading up to a goal but did a damn sight better than Kolo against Everton.

Kolo all day long - Lescott has ben schooled in the Everton / Moyes hoofball stylee - both Kolo and Vinny look very comfortable on the ball when coming out of defense
