lescott - part of the Jo agreement

That scenario is pretty much where we are with Hughes now. He took time to get his Blackburn team firing on a small budget. But he did get the time to do it. Now it's time to see if he can do it with a huge transfer kitty.

Some managers are cut out for it, some aren't, but to be honest Hughes' signings so far seem to have been bob on (Jo wasn't his signing, and Tal Ben-Haim we'll ignore as he was bought for cover!), similar to Moyes. His signings have been great from what I see as well. Most notable are Cahill, Pienaar (who I was gutted we didn't go in for at the time), Arteta and this new Fellaini fella.

Time will tell but I think we'll get there sooner or later. I realistically think it'll take 3-5 years to be challenging consistently up at the top but not if we chop and change the manager all the time.

Most of Moyes' best signings have been ones that didn't cost much money. It was great to hear that our entire midfield, in the last couple of derby games, cost less than Liverpool spent on Robbie Keane!

I agree about the manager changes as well. Newcastle, Spurs, Sunderland, Chelsea... they've all shown that changing your manager can have further consequences on the club. Stability really is needed for a club to start pushing up the table and competing for honours. United are the best example to follow for that, and it's not surprise that Sir Alex has won so much at United, what with being there for so long and being so experienced in that role.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing how well Jo does IF he joins us tomorrow. I still don't believe you can Lescott... well, maybe if you offered really silly money!

Good luck for the rest of the season too. A fair few Evertonians I know don't mind City as a club, and I hope the feeling is mutual for some of your fans too.

Cheers mate. I'll be expecting Jo to be returned to us as a bonafide 20 goal a season man!

Hi,

I have been looking through this post and for the life of me, i cant see where all the hostilaty between City and Everton comes from. Is this just a City thing ie Manchester and Liverpool or is the a genuine dislike for Everton?

Now i am a Blue (Everton) and i have always thought of City as a similar club to Everton. Fans local to the club, i the shadow (cringe when i say this) to our rivals / cunts. And up untill now not a penny to our name.

As soon as i heard the news of this Arab tycoon i was made up (scouse for happy) and i thought finally an ok side getting a good turn of luck. Some of the posts on this thread seem to now have an aura of arrogance in the money the club has now.

I do hope City progress but i hope not as much as Everton of course.

Any light on any of my questions will be much appreciated.

PS any cunts who just want to give me shit just fuck off im interested in only 'Adults' looking to have a decent conversation between to simlar fans who in turn both love their clubs.

Well ya think were robbin bastards breakin in and using ya internet ...nah mate im to busy wid a missus up stairs whilst using me blackbury .... manc cunts

Its a bit hypocritical, as i see sky blue seats in EVERY city game i watch.

Our avg attendance hasnt changed much over the last few years so why is yours down so much this season? Genuine ?? You have only won 3 games at home because you are such a defensive team and dont have the flair players to break teams down. You have won more away games because you just defend and hope for a corner in the last minute. Bolton, WHU, City, Stoke, Liverpool and Fulham all very very late goals to get you wins or draws. The teams you beat were just bored to death and then you pounced with a cross and a header.

Anyway enough of having a go. I actually dont mind Everton and i hope you find your sugar daddy like we have. We are similar in that we have to live with the shit of the other club. There is always a good atmosphere at Everton and it is a proper football club in my eyes. I think Moyes has worked wonders and to be honest i think his buys have been really well thought out. Jagielka, Yobo, Lescott, Cahill, Arteta, Neville combined cost less than Jo so having the money proves nothing. We could only dream of the money a few months back and now it has gone to our head a bit but who can blame us. I know you think you are much bigger than us but a club as big as Everton just staying in the prem means nothing really and we are going to give it a good shot now. Lets hope you get a big cash injection and we are both fighting it out at the top in the near future and knocking Utd and Liverpool out of the top 4.
