Lescott

Beşiktaş have offered Manchester City defender Jolean Lescott €2.2m per-season according to NTV Spor.

The Black Eagles will be able to sign Lescott on a free transfer if City do not renew terms with the experienced defender his contract runs out this summer.

The England international has only made seven appearances for the Citizens this season and has only featured in one of City's last 6 matches.

Lescott has not ruled out a move abroad and has expressed dissatisfaction with his current role at the club.

"If I am playing for my future here, then great. If I am playing for it elsewhere, then so be it," Lescott said.

"I just know that every time I am out there, I have to perform at a level where top clubs would be interested in signing me."

Beşiktaş will need to part ways with at least one foreign player in order to complete the signing of Lescott.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) introduced a ruling last summer only permitting 10 foreign players per-club in the and allowing only six foreign players on the field at any one time for the 2013-14 season.

Beşiktaş currently have 10 non-Turkish players on their books.

The 31-year-old joined City from Everton for £24 million in 2009 and has made 149 appearances for the Citizens.

While I'm tempted to write this off as the usual Turkish club BS (remember Kolo supposedly joining Turkish sides?), a Besiktas board member has actually said this:

"We are negotiating with City over defender Joleon Lescott. There will be some important developments about this on Thursday."

They are also looking to sign Ronaldinho. What kind of team are they building? Are they planning to participate in some pensioners league.

Good luck to him, came to us to win trophies and did just that. if that 40k per week comes with a juicy signing bonus then I think a few years in the sun looks much more fun than trying to get on to our bench. Don't blame him at all.

Strange move surely woy wont be watching to many besiktas games , unless joleon has give up on playing at the WC

He's done us proud. Hughes might have paid over the top for him, but he never let us down.

Gotta be someone already lined up then for this to happen. Surely a prem team would pay him 40,000 a week?

If he goes, good luck to him. Played very well for us and was part of the best defence in the league
As above, it does leave short of cover at the back.
