French Revolution then. Got to be around that time. Give up on the other one. Can i google it and not post?

Yep Fr. Rev and you can do as you please mate....post if you like, the idea is that once you read the OP you don't scroll down or check the other posts until you have got them all or give up. You might kick yourself or in turn might scratch your head and/or learn something with 622. Bears a lot of importance 1500 years later!!! A lot!!!

Googled it and...bloody hell. I had no idea. Never would have got that.

Had to google that myself and doubt many will get it without googling

I dunno, if enough people have a go we will find out, but if its just me and BimboBob going at it with the odd bystander like yourself then I suppose we may never know. It's one of those dates that just stands out, and is hard to forget. I did a lot of Eastern European, Middle Eastern and Asian studies at uni. Certain dates just stick for me. If someone else created the same thread, barring the obvious/super-important, im sure there would be some that would require a little deeper though from myself and others as well.

Bystander! cheeky sod. I gave some answers to the first one. Unfortunately I didn't see the update and had already scrolled down to see some answers on the second. But I'll admit I only would have got the French Revolution and Columbus

Didn't think bystanders were allowed to join in ;)

Alright, without cheating (seriously, don't open another window and type in Wikipedia or Google, otherwise the thread will be useless).....what happened on these dates in history........just a few significant dates from the past thousand years of recorded human history, and I am doing this largely for the younger Blues. Like I said already this could get ruined almost immediately, but I thought I would give it ago. LOOK AT THE OP ONLY, then reply, as if you scroll down you will undoubtedly see the answers (hopefully) and thus end the thread.

NEW DATES BLUES!! Some tough ones that took some thinking. GOOD LUCK!

476 Rome sacked

622 Charlemagne beats Muslims

1455

1492 Columbus discovers america

1588 armada gets whacked

1648 civil war

1789 French revolution

1966
England win world cup

How did I do (no cheating)

1648 was the treaty of westphalia, end of the 30 years war

Might have been the end of the english civil war too, but I'm not sure about that one
