Let's see some youth in the return leg!

If it were me, I'd start a couple of youngsters but not make wholesale changes. Our team is in the process of blending after limited pre-season opportunities and I wouldn't want to disrupt momentum.

Fair dos to Pep with whatever he decides, though. He knows a tad more about these things than I do.

Interesting thoughts from a few people, we have the best manager in the world and some folks are suggesting who he should pick!!

So if Pep doesn't play any youth players is he wrong?

I am all for opinions, but come on folks, yes it would be nice to see some young players come through this season, but I think I will let Pep decide on who and when they play.

Don't think I've seen a post that contradicts itself as much as this one on here. Well played.

I didn't mean for this match...We're they in the line-up I posted? NEIN. My point is that there is the need for rotation, to allow those available and not currently starting to learn the system too.

Probably already mentioned, but aren't we limited to those players named in the CL squad?

No chance. We need games, players getting used to a new system, many players had little or no pre season.

A couple of kids on the bench maybe, but take no risks.

I'd imagine the biggest risk is an injury to a key first team player in a pretty meaningless game. I wouldn't advocate throwing all of the kids in together like against Chelsea last season, but I'd like a mix of first team, fringe and youth players. May as well get more players used to the system as we're going to pick up injuries over the course of the season.

I think we'll see the same team against Stoke and West Ham so my only worry is that 5 games in two weeks might be asking a bit much.

Usually I would agree but after such a poor pre season I think we need these extra 2 games to get up to speed with the new system, especially the players who missed large chunks of pre season.
