Leverkusen (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

A number of posters in this thread feeling sorry for themselves because they travelled or paid money for hotels and trains. The simple solution is to not support a team who play in a different city or if you're from Manchester, don't move away. They deserve no more credit for attending last night than the lad who can see Mary D's from his kitchen window.
Nope, not on my part, I was angry last night.

I could make a perfectly good argument for everyone that started last night, my issue with it, was all of them starting at the same time, it was ridiculous, it was arrogant, it was stupid. Had I known he was going to do that, I genuinely wouldn't have bothered, but I went, because to me it was a big game in the context of this years competition, and I'm still angry he basically threw the game.

I currently live several hours away from the Etihad, and haven't lived in or near Manchester since 1981 (hopefully within a few weeks it'll be half an hour away as I've retired and will be moving back). I've followed the club from wherever I've lived in that time, but I can't remember being as pissed off as I was at 75 minutes yesterday (maybe the cup final against wigan), and I've seen some SHITE in that time, but there was no need for that last night, and I'd have been just as pissed off, had I lived in a house behind the south stand.

Absolutely mate, zero confidence we'll go all guns blazing on Saturday. I imagine it will be all pedestrian again and will be very hard work

Why? It will literally be a completely different team.

Everyone knows it was shit but it was shit because we made 10 changes, which was a poor decision from Pep.

I know your gimmick is to bring everyone down and disappear when we do well. There’s something very coded about your posts.

Correct, it's a bit unfair on the second string players to play them all at the same time - that is, if you are one that is actually a better standard than the others it's hard to show because them playing poorly around you drags your game down too.

Players I'm quickly losing patience with;-

Savinho
Bobb

I think when Savinho slipped over and lost the ball late on it couldn't have been a better example of where his career at City is currently!

Reijnders is also incredibly disappointing. He just doesn't seem to have anything other than run and lose the ball to his game, and with Savinho and Marmoush doing the same last night it was a frustrating watch.

Bobb needs to do more undoubtedly but he has the ability to play that more patient pass and move football.

Fundamentally it's a combination of the players being too selfish but also a lack of structure. On and off the ball they didn't seem to know what the plan was. I can't believe Pep told them to just attack with the ball and then see what happened, but that was our plan. There was no patience or guile to try and unlock Leverkusen.

There wouldn’t be any need for violence either. Says everything about you.
Well you can't go around calling people a "moron" whenever you feel like it and not expect some back...

You're a keyboard warrior, as I've mentioned you wouldn't say something like that to my face.

You carry on and continue being Billy big bollocks on a forum if that's what makes you sleep at night the tough man that you are...

Jog on.

It wasn't fair on the 10 players and it wasn't fair to the paying fans who attended. That said, Pep has won a shit load of cups for us (and also lost a good few with baffling selections mostly in the CL) so perhaps he has a lot of good will in the bank.
9 of the starting eleven are full internationals. Pep had one of his biggest brain farts last night but the players are also not above criticism....

They deserve credit for moving out of Manchester, though.

Yes, but they’re having a reasoned debate, unlike you, you nasty little twat.

Have you lost sight, in your angry little hour, that I am one of the people who travels to watch City? I’m proud of the effort me and my boys make to get there but when we lose, I don’t complain about the hours on the motorway because we support City win, lose or draw. You see, it was my choice to move away.
for goodness sake, give it a rest
