Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Main thing is we are in the next round but I didn't enjoy that. Physicality is a real issue and has been all season, even today was a problem. One bug bear I have with the FA Cup is why adopt this stupid rule of not having Var until the 5th round, absolute joke. As for the commentary, Keown was pathetic.

Even Orient, even Leyton bastard, twatting Orient have got us 100% tactically rumbled, even Orient. Slow, repetitive, predictable, laboured build ups really are the future, and who needs full backs when you can play an academy player there, thats OReilly who has spent his entire life playing in midfield. Bet we won the possession stats, and thats really important. We're like a high jumper who carried on jumping side straddle years after every competitor has moved on to Fosbury flopping. The game has moved on.
I like the bit where Gundo gets the ball 40 yards out from goal and looks at all the runs (one) and then spends 20 seconds wonder which sideways pass to play. Some genius level stuff.

It was a win and some much needed rest for some players but I struggle to think of a more appalling refereeing display than the one just witnessed.
Inept from start to finish, much like some of our player's performances...

Think in any other season you'd just chalk that one up as a well-fought cup game that if we'd taken our chances would have been over earlier than it was.

Gutted about Nico.

A good performance imo. Their goal was a one-off moment but we kept playing. They had a couple of moments but we could have scored more goals. I thought Khusanov did well, and Grealish gave us time on the ball. A brilliant assist for KDB.
I’d concur. Not sure about the performance being good part, but the rest.
I’d add that although Rico doesn’t have the finesse or skill in his locker that would elevate him to a higher level, you can never fault the lads effort and he puts a shift in.
Grealish frustrates but he played some great balls that deserved goals before the one to Kev.
I’d also add I thought O’Reilly once again put in a decent performance that won’t do him any harm at all in Pep’s standings.

Quite disappointed in Foden this season in general but there again today I see him as just miles off the pace in his head as well as physically.
Takes the wrong option consistently.
