Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

Maybe a sub against Bournemouth would be my guess. Don’t thin Pep will try a 17yo in the PL

Definitely. Personally, with our striking options I’d love to see him start that game - I mean why not, let’s see what he can do - we might be pleasantly surprised!

Should certainly be on the bench for the Bournemouth game with a view to getting 30 mins on the pitch.

These first few games Pep will want to get some minutes into the main first team squad, I cant see him getting any Prem time unless it's literally a couple of mins to close a game out this side of the next International break.

He looks dangerous whenever he is near the ball. Power, pace, touch and shooting power is a dangerous combination. Whether he can make the step up is a matter of being given the chance and taking it.

Don’t get somes people thinking... do this kid need to score 400 Youth goals before he’s ready or something?? Nothing wrong with him having a place on the bench, getting a few mins etc
I think you'll find that it's pretty unanimous that everyone is saying the same regarding the bench and/or a few minutes to blood him.

Great to see him on the bench.
Yep. Pep only seems to consider youngsters that form part of the initial preseason squad, irrespective of how good others do throughout the season. Braaf was an example last season where he just wouldn’t promote him despite him tearing it up in EDS.

This year preseason isn’t quite like others, but the fact he’s made the jump in Pep’s mind bodes well, particularly with only two central strikers ahead of him. Hopefully he takes his chance on Thursday as he looks to have the tools and just as importantly offers something different.

He's definitely starting against Bournemouth, if I had to guess I'd say doyle and palmer/bernabe might too. Probably harwood bellis and a few youth defenders as well given that walker and mendy had 90 minutes and cancelo & zinchenko are both injured

Really looking forward to seeing this kid play, sounds like he has a decent chance of starting on Thursday.

The only downside is he won't be playing with the likes of Raz and KDB.

However, great opportunity to show he can compete at a higher level and work his way into our plans.

I think Mahrez and Torres will likely start tomorrow (at least the latter), so he'll still have some quality in the forward line.
