Liam Delap

Prefer that we would have had the foresight to have known what he’d become and kept him .
He wouldn’t have got the game time to develop. The sale and buy back option was exactly what he needed - previous loans he didn’t exactly set the world on fire

if we don't take this advantage of a buy back knowing we could sell him for profit if he don't make it or settle into our team! I'd say our board are absolutely Brian dead and then the question should be why even Bother with a buyback just put in a bigger sell on clause instead!!
I have noted Madrid when they sell players that came through their academy are putting in 50% sell on. Which equates to 50% ownership of the player. They can still dictate things if the player does well.

I’d assume it depends on the player. He’s a star at Ipswich and will have clubs lining up to get him at the end of the season - whether they survive or not - which he’ll have a pick of.

Do City mean that much to him? Is he a blue? Would he want to come back and prove a point? Personally, not sure.

I’d be all over getting him back, mind. Especially with the buyback clause being cheaper than his market value. But if we did, I’d hope it was a genuine reason and that he’d get chances as opposed to a business decision like we did with Angelino.

I agree, but it appears we have no patience with young players. If they aren’t instantly ready made for the first team they don’t really get a chance. It was obvious delap had the talent, why not just loan him out

Lewis being the exception I think because of the position he plays. Others like Harwood Bellis - I’d resign him as well

He'd just been on 3 loans and looked just ok at best in all of em, as well as injury trouble in the last. Perm move was the right call imo, settled team/system/manager to get his game going.

Bellis is the one that really grates on me as you could see was quality and atm better than what we have .
