The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas was incredible album from the late 90’s / early 00’s featuring lots of great singers.

Scorpio Rising wasn’t on there but is a must listen as you liked that.

Yep thats a brilliant album, some great guests.

Weren't Death In Vegas going to produce an Oasis album but it got scrapped during the sessions?

Could have been good, a more interesting direction for Oasis, which is probably why they chickened out. I think it was before that album Don't Believe The Truth where each songs were all like a parody of another band, they had one that sounded like a complete rip off of The Stranglers, one sounded like The Velvet Underground etc. I know Oasis always borrowed but it was almost parody on these ones.

Doing an album with Death In Vegas would've been better.

The Apollo Manchester only holds 3,500 so two nights 7,000 why chose such a small venue, surely demand will be high ?

We can’t go so will definitely buy the album, love the video and that looks like Barrie Cadogan (primal scream) he’s another fabulous guitar player your in for a treat those of you who get tickets

At the very last school I taught in before I retired, an after school event was scheduled at short notice: a Careers Evening for Year 10.

As I was a form tutor for that year group, I got resentfully corralled into following them around from classroom to classroom while they were given presentations on how to become wage slaves in various fields.

Think they were as pissed off as I was about having to stay behind.

Until we got to the one that was about following a career in music.

That was given by Simon Hanson.

He came across really well and it more than made up for the boredom of the previous talks.

Had to admit that I only owned one CD single by Death in Vegas (the scintillating ‘Aisha’ featuring Iggy Pop), but hopefully that might have surprised him a bit as this wasn’t the kind of school where you would imagine that the staff listened to songs about serial killers.

Never found out what his connection with the school was or how he got roped into being part of the occasion. But am quite chuffed to have met the guy.

And now I must check out The Contino Sessions.
