He’s obviously been advised to come out by agents/PR team. He didn’t wake up one day whilst eating his wheetabix and decided he’ll tell someone. Now he’ll look like he’s standing up for black people, by saying he wanted to kill a black person. As we all know race, especially in America right now is a big, big issue. There’s reason behind everything, the media make it look like he’s said it because he can’t live with the secret anymore. Total bull.
 
Bizarre and mad thing to do, i.e. walk round for a week and try and find some completely random innocent black guy to kill because your friend got raped by a black guy. What on earth??? Then to admit you did that in an interview 40 years later to aid promotion of a film. And then bizarrely afterwards try and justify your actions by implying it was because you were brought up in Northern Ireland during the troubles?? I've got news for you Liam, 99.99% of people in Northern Ireland didn't behave like that during the troubles, only the thick scumbags. Makes you wonder if he made the entire story up as some sort of weird way of promoting his film, realised his mistake and is now trying to back track. Either way the bloke is a complete cretin.
 
If we were all to reveal the inner thoughts we've had throughout our lives, chances are we would have no friends, partners and more than likely be serving or have done time.
Sometimes keeping schtum serves everyone best.
The timing and language used along with the way the interview developed give the impression he didn't go through a damascene conversion either,even if he did express some disgust at the way he reacted.
Have a feeling that although this has generated a lot of discussion nothing positive will come from it.

Good points but according to him these wernt just inner thoughts but actions. Alternatively I'm beginning to think hes made the whole thing up to promote his film. And now realises the mistake he has made. This is a university educated guy from Ballymena in Antrim. He was acting in his early twenties and quickly moved to London. He wasn't throwing Molotov cocktails on the Falls Road.
