It can't really be an hour before. He says it's 1pm and he died at 5pm in a completely different hotel. The staff said he was off his tits when they called the police, so maybe not even the same day.

Fair enough. I have to admit that I don’t know much about the guy, nor his movements.

As I said in the post, it didn’t look like a person about to commit suicide.
