Lights Out

had no probs with the flags..

Ever since I first watched City in the flash (decades ago)
I've been struck by the lack of colour round the ground(s). Sorry, but the wall of colour (eg flags , banners , scarves ....flares etc is a key feature in building the 'fortress feeling' and supporting the players. (remember the M+++ch derby 2 years ago ?) Continental clubs latched onto this years ago and it is impressive..

The other thing i notied tonight was how the kids picked up on it . We were sat near a couple of primary aged lads who enjoyed wavin their flags (even though their dad was wearing an Oldham hat)

By the end of the game they had latched onto the songs we were singing...

job done !!!

Some people will just moan for the sake of it. Nothing to moan about the display so let's slag the club for giving free flags, music and dimming the lights. I thought the lights were fantastic.

Funny how there are no suggestions though, just moans, moans, moans. Some people must be a ball on a night out........

Please, please, please stop all this tacky crap.

Free flags, that fucking bluemoon at the start, it is the carling cup ffs and it makes us look like a bunch of dicks.

Sorry to be a miserable bastard but I really don't want to be the next Chelsea.

That is all.
stop moaning the kids loved the flags and the lights out feature was good enough for barca against city its good enough for me, thought it was a fantastic night , maybe we should go back to rattles and team changes being carried round with two men and a blackboard. get a life

My one suggestion......no demand.....is that they cut the music with five minutes to kick off. Let the atmosphere build. All the gimmicks are well and good but a groundswell of singing will never get going against loud music as proved by Bluemoon last night.

I couldn't agree more. If it's bolton on a Wedensday night the music might have a place, but for big games let the atmosphere build.

I'd quite like it to become our trademark at night matches.

Would bring a big match occasion to every game and create a spectacle.

not been on here for ages, but have to agree with you mate.....
I loved it.
I don't know of any club that has done this sort of thing of late.
It's just one small thing thats been done by the club that I feel is unique to us.Yet we still have people on here moaning about the fact that their club is trying to show that Manchester City stands alone from the others.
Did they have to do it? No.
And for those people out their putting in their negative posts my question is WHY do you think the club did it in the first place and what do they think the purpose of the event was for?
Fucking small minded pricks.

Not unique. They do it abroad eg Barca

Think it would have been longer if it wasn't for the thousands of people still entering the stadium. Imagine if someone had slipped in the 3rd tier in the dark?

Its mad how something like a bit of darkness makes people so emotional! Your so passionate, i bet your wives are knackered!

Sorry didn't realise we were in the champs league and that Barca are one of our major competitors at the moment ( except for the financial side of transfers etc).........As for tripping in the dark HAHAHAHAHAHA!
