No team in England really creates it's own atmosphere any more without giving them a nudge.

How many times have Liverpool stewards looked the other way while things like flares were sneaked in to Anfield on a European night?

We should make our own atmosphere.

But we don't create our own atmosphere. That's the point. The atmosphere we've generated this season without gimmics has been absolutely shite. They wouldn't have given out free flags and done the bluemoon projection if they didn't feel we needed a good kick up the arse to get our vocal chords going.

The projection was good, I thought. A spontanious chorus of BLue Moon broke out and it was really atmospheric. Yet within 20 seconds they killed it by playing that stupid fucking Ricky Hatton version at earsplitting volume. Then they kept the music going right until kickoff, killing any real atmosphere until then.

Atleast the club are trying something different - I didn't see that coming. Compared to playing 'Psycho, Psycho' and clapping over the tannoy I will take this every day of the week. The flags I looked good and the Bluemoon was a good spectacle. It served it's purpose and got us all even more pumped up.

The club will NEVER please everyone but I bet the vast majority enjoyed the surprise tonight. I did. Well done City

It was kids night, but I'd like to think we don't need to do that for a real match like against the Rags.

Incidentally, I couldn't get a flag to bring home for my lad, some buggers seemed to have about 5 though. Never mind, he'll have to make do with a Wembley 2010 one instead.

I'd quite like it to become our trademark at night matches.

Would bring a big match occasion to every game and create a spectacle.
