Most people seem to think it is repulsive but I like a bit of this. Difficult to find in the UK though, mostly only in Chinese supermarkets.

Oh no - root beer is fucking horrible.
Whoever decided to make beer out of tree root and bark should be locked up forever in a psychiatric unit.
Sweet,foul-tasting and doesn't make you beat the wife.
So that's a no from me.
 
Anyone ever seen the Vimto sculpture off Sackville Street, carved from an oak tree?

Yes, that's pretty much the reaction I always get when I mention root beer, apart from maybe the wife beating bit. Some root beer can be bad, most that you can get in the UK is pretty foul. A decent root beer is great though.

Yes!! I love root beer. You used to be able to get it in McDonalds in the 80's but I think I was one of a few that bought it.

I get it now from websites that sell American sweets and drinks.

I prefer IBC to A&W though.
