They might because in a multi year contract you’d have to put all the dates in for say 2017, 2018, 2019 etc. So easier just to with a statement like the end of the season because with the CL the season gets a bit extended in any case.

It is not unreasonable to assume the issue with Barca trying it on with the 10th June vs "end of season" stuff is not taken to seriously or that letter would have addressed it. Barca trying to focus on the 700m part seemingly as their leverage.

I will assume both sides accept that a court would side with Messi on that rather than a tenuous technicality in wording. Spirit of the contract etc.
