There is more reason to keep him if we get Messi, he's a hard worker and will be probably even more useful in games where Messi's work rate has to be made up for. Plus he can only improve, would be a waste to make him a better player in all this time just to sell to Barça and help them rebuild.

Mahrez is the only player I could sacrifice for this deal to happen. We don’t have a young and hungry striker if we ship out Jesus, only Agüero who could perform another 2-3 years tops. Bernardo is a special special player and I would never let him go.
If the club let go of any of Jesus or Bernardo, I would be so pissed. And honestly I don’t care if it’s Messi. We have to think about the future as well.
What does Mahrez give us that Messi doesn't do better? He'd just be more of the same and still on huge wages. Every other player linked with a move across there brings something else to the team.
