I can't translate it from my ipad, maybe someone else can.......mundo deportivo and as.com are running a story that a club is willing to pay €400 million for him....could only make out PSG......probably bollocks.

That's alot! but the club obviously think he's worth it..

400m eh..
Is this another episode of messi v fcb regarding new contract fight etc? It's actually pretty entertaining [popcorn.gif]
Why is the club fighting him so much instead of just giving him what he wants, he's the best player in the world.
Wait, maybe because Messi doesn't want to move after all, so fcb dismiss all his bluff?

I hope they keep fighting until after city beat them twice.

I was originally looking forward to watching Messi against us but hope he's missing now as as well as having a better chance of winning with him not playing he'd be one 'dive' cheat away from getting dogs abuse from the crowd which could scupper the deal.

*** I know he's not that sort of player but never say never.

Its going to be an interesting summer the Shanchez and Isco threads over the last couple of seasons will seem like nothing. Hope ric has got some bandwidth hiding under his bed.

Messi valued at eye-watering €400m (that's three times more than his rival Ronaldo!)

This is what we would be buying into.

Ronaldo had his chance to join the City revolution and rejected us, now he's too old for us.

-- Sat Jan 04, 2014 11:55 am --

Honestly believe we will make a very large and very public bid for the man. This summer will see us moving to the next level when it comes to transfers and whilst we may not pull it off, we will cause some serious sleepless nights around Europe imo.

I also expect a bid for him, just as a statement more then anything.

IMO it would be in the best interest of both clubs and player to keep this under wraps for as long as possible and I reckon we will only go for the player if we are 100% certain

1) He wants or is prepared to leave Barca
2) He wants to come to us.

I am not counting my chickens on this transfer happening at all I believe maybe 0.5% chance of it happening and almost 99.5% chance of him agreeing new deal at Barca and staying there his whole career.

Only Messi knows if he needs a new challenge and wants to try a new league, if he feels the Barca ship is sinking..

There actually is a very good chance we or another team will sign Messi.

If the conspiracy rumours are true that Roselli and co. are willing to build there 'new Barca' around Neymar than Messi is not going to like this.
Tbh I thought that Neymar would move after the 2014 world cup, my pal who worked in Brazil a couple of years ago when Neymar was just showing his head said that Neymar would one day play for Barcelona or Real Madrid. I thought that was a bit of a long shot but it happened. He said at the start of last summer that he had mates in Brazil still and Neymar wouldn't move this summer but after the 2014 world cup when his contract with Santos expires. But I honestly think that it was we who bid for Neymar (or rather Txixi and Ferran) who knew of Barcas intent and made them bid early making Barca panic and bid a year early.

It's a long shot but with Messi perhaps unsettled at Barcelona maybe just maybe we might have a chance plus with Kun and Zabba ;)
