CAS increased it to 11.6m i think and it took 2 years. CAS said that you cant predict the compensation as it is the impact it will have on the "wronged" party. I suspect the commercial impact of losing Messi will not be small, certainly compared to some bloke i hadnt heard of before.
I think the conclusion basically means using Webster is a huge gamble and will take a long time to be resolved.
But FIFA seemed to come to a reasonable fee a lot less than his clause, even though he had 2 years to go.
The same result, even with Messi's ludicrous release clause, also allowing for it being one year rather than two, plus his age, ought to be perfectly doable, if neccessary.
Edit: if it ended going to 2 years at CAS, we would have made the extra, before we had to pay it.
