Just fucking stop it Marv.

You sound like some twat in front of a camera for sly news or on the couch of Sunday Supplement.

Read that first line and understand how fucking ridiculous it is.

Greatest player the game has ever known and you have seen enough to know he will be an asset?

No shit sherlock, no fucking shit.
To be fair his view is gradually changing. By time we sign him Marvin Will be as giddy as the rest of us

He has been carrying a team. Now he can just get back to playing football under a coach who more than anyone else can devise a method of play that suits his game.

I think this move can revitalise the player and Pep. What a proposition for Pep.
Same as ladyboy carrying Madrid.

Anyone else struggling to even believe all this? I'm not gonna lie, I've been awake since half six and the main reason is I opened my eyes, looked at my phone, and was immediately reminded that Leo Messi wants to join Man City. Wow.

We should have some sort of moratorium on some of the 'analysis' people seem to be delivering whether it be the clowns in the media talking the move down or the clowns on here talking it down.

Leo Messi wants to join Manchester City. The greatest player ever in the history of the game wants to come and play football at the Etihad. For us.

If we pull this off, I'm not sure there's enough drinks in the world to celebrate with.
I'm the same. Couldn't sleep had numerous dreams about the prospect and soon as I wake up I'm straight on the 2 threads. Unreal being a city fan (still wont believe it until its happened but very confident now)

I'm the City representative on a forum with United. Liverpool and Everton fans. Liverpool and United fans cant even bring themselves to discuss Messi, its like the saga is not playing out. Its all about United might steal Van de Beek from Spur's noses etc..and just talking in general about their own self importance.

If we end up with the Messi I'm going to revel in it big time, the amount of boiling p**s on their side will be a sight to behold. They couldn't take the CAS verdict and resorted to giving me insults which I loved. I just wiped the floor with them and washed them with the facts (Thanks to your Sidekick Stefan). I await hes s sh*t passed his best, cant handle the premier league yawn yawn but if we pull this transfer off it will tip them over the edge.

Make it happen City. I have copious amounts of alcohol at the ready!

Funny how Messi was advised by his lawyers NOT to turn up at the PCR or training

Yet Bartomeu and his board members continually flood the media with reports that the clause still stands.

Remember this is a guy and a board that have repeatedly used the spanish media to put out their narrative and have used it to tarnish the name of those they do not like at the club

I agree with the majority of your post but don’t think Messi will have any problem at all slotting right in to the team. Messi has scored countless goals against us, Chelsea, rags, Arsenal etc so Wolves, Leicester and Leeds will not be an issue. He’s the best player in world football.
Of course, but that was also for a Barca team he had great chemistry with (mostly) regardless of manager. We still don’t even know which position Pep will play him at & if he does end up partnering up Aguero, his chemistry with him in the international team was nothing like the link-up he had with Suarez all these years. Just saying that while I have no doubt he’s the best to ever to do it, every player has to adapt to the system at play.

I am not sure that he is the best player in world football but ranking him as No. 1 or no. 5 is not really that useful. What I do not like is this portrayal of Messi as some timeless God. Clearly the Messi at 33 is not the Messi of 19 who terrorised players by sprinting through defences with the ball tied to his feet. I had forgotten just how amazing he was.

Now we have a more cerebral Messi. The slalom runs are still there. I saw one run against Bayern Munich but the acceleration is not there. The fantastic technique though and vision is there.
He might be the best in the world but he is in the top two at the very least.

It inspired this quote from pisscan.....

"It's City, isn't it? They are a small club, with a small mentality. All they can talk about is Manchester United, that's all they've done and they can't get away from it."

Never in your lifetime eh knob head.
I’m genuinely glad he survived that stroke, it would have been so unfair if he didn’t get to witness our ascension

Fair article, but the last paragraph hits the nail on the head. ( ignoring the 1st line)

There were some things the Abu Dhabi money simply could not buy, City were often told, and at times that was proved correct. But what Messi’s arrival says, more perhaps even than winning the Champions League this month would have done, is that anything is possible. For City, for Abu Dhabi, that feels like the whole purpose of the enterprise – the proverbial shining city built in the desert. Besides, a club win the Champions League every year – only one in history will have the opportunity to take Messi from Barcelona.
