Probably almost certainly not going to happen but we have more chance of getting him than the scum and who would have thought that a year ago when we were in danger of imploding under thaksin? Let's not be embarrassed if our owners do try, just revel in the fact that it IS possible and even if not now then next year or the year after that

This will only happen when we

a) Have won something

b) Qualified for CL.

c) Established ourselves in the sky 4.

Only then do we stand a chance of getting him. He will not want to be accused of going for the money he will want the move to win silverware.

Minimum 3 -4 years away.

or he could actually say "i,ve won CL and would like a new challenge with my mates carlos and pablo".....why can this not be the case.........

I hope youre not being serious! Why on earth would the worlds greatest player leave the worlds greatest team, and move from the city of Barcelona to Manchester (as much as I love it, it doesnt have the same appeal to most)? It is never going to happen.

Step into my office mate! It will be as embarrassing as it gets if we launch an official bid. He will not come here in a million years. And to say we have more chance than united? How?!!! Cos we have more money? Players like Messi are not motivated by money. He wants the best class of football in one of the biggest clubs available to him. he has that already however should he decide to leave, we can't offer him anything remotely like that. United can, AC can and Madrid can. They are probably the only 3 teams who could get him, and I say AC with caution as Italian football is dying.

They're not in the same class. I know people keep on forgetting to acknowledge this, but they are not in the same class as Messi, Kaka and Ronaldo. You think of it there are usually 3 top players every 2 or 3 years or so. Those players are untouchable when it comes to 99% of English clubs. Not even Chelsea can get them, they tried and failed, (for Goofy), but they tried and failed after winning a couple of Premier Leagues, which gave them a bit of credibility.

so why would messi,s mindset be of joining a CL winning side when he,s already won it??...........

Well why did Ronaldo join Madrid, if thats your theory? Oh thats right, its been his boyhood dream. DO you think Messi;s boyhood dream after fulfilling his ambitions with Barca was to play at Man City? No, it wasn't. He could though, if this is believable, join another team capable of winning the CL, just like Ronaldinho has, just like Ronaldo has and just like Shevchenko thought he could do. Come on mate, it will be cringe-worthy if we try to get him and then definitely fail.

Though I see your point, I can't see him getting giddy about no Champions League football, (well no European football at all actually). I can't see he'll be in his Villa in Barca right now pondering on playing with Richard Dunne who, whether you like it or not, is going to be part of the team. I can't see playing with Shay Given is high on his agenda compared to Valdes. I can't see he is serious about swapping Eric Abidal for Wayne Bridge or sacrificing his passes from Xavi for Irelands. The one I will give you is he must be wondering what the fuck Ibrahimovic is all about!! Saying that though he still has Terry Henry and Krcic to think about. I know what you're saying, but its way, way too soon just yet.
