Who said anything about Koulibaly?

That's a different deal, you dealing with an idiot in Aurelio De Laurentiis , the club must be aware of that RE Jorginho.

We are desperate for a high class CB and some legs in midfield and that's even with Messi!

Some of us, are desperate for a top class cb & legs in midfield, not convinced Pep is.

His past track record is for a plodder in midfield & any **** who can pass a ball & stick a leg out, at cb.

No I don't subscribe any longer but I disagree with that conclusion and suspect it is not including the likely spending this Summer (Koulibaly etc) and you can't look in one year view anyway.

Our spending this summer even with Koulibaly is not that excessive given the outgoings (Sane, likely a few others.) Also the relatively low spending the last two summers. Shouldn't that allow for a good bit of wiggle room given all the other issues?

I thought Kieran Maguire made some good points in the Athletic piece, but I of course know next to nothing about the world of football finance.

You obviously know an immense amount and FWIW I greatly appreciate reading your takes on this.

Assuming no players go to Barca do you think there is a cap in terms of the transfer fee City should pay? Would 100 million be putting us in potential danger? 50?

I think you are, if you think Pep is going to build a team around a 33 yr old.

Messi comes, amazing , but he compliments our team, nothing more.

Pep doesn't have to build anything mate. Messi comes and slots straight in.

We're not talking about some talented but raw youngster. He's the greatest player to ever lace a boot. There is no adjustment time. He's been there and done that, over, and over, and over again.

So Puma is £65m per year.
Nissan is £5-10m per year

Etihad is £60-70m per year
Etisalat is £10m per year

What’s the rest coming from?
Puma is not a sponsor its a kit deal.

The rest of the partners are all here https://www.mancity.com/club/partners. If you exclude the kit deal (you can only have one and we only just entered into the agreement), the vast majority obviously comes from the first 5 named. And Nexen tyres is also a Mubadala investment. So it is not materially less than 80%
