A couple of days ago, El Confidencial published an article stating that Pellegrini's Manchester City were prepared to pay Messi's €250m release clause and then let the player decide if he wanted to join them or not.

Today, El Economista (seen as a rather “serious” newspaper in Spain) published an article on their website stating that, for the first time, members of the Catalan club are considering selling Lionel Messi.
