Should have approached this with extreme caution. I know people thought Messi wouldn’t play the ex Barca boys, but he has. Wouldn’t be too smug if I was a Barca fan though, their club is still a laughing stock.

It's a glorious day for cules. Beggars belief both that Bartomeu resisted calls to resign for 3 years running while subverting every legal attempt to kick him out as well as the power of the democratic principles of the club that ultimately drove him & his cohorts out. Rare in any sector to see democracy triumph against money, propaganda and politics but it has happened here. What seemed unthinkable a few months ago in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic is now a reality, Bartomeu is out

An election for a new board & President will be held between 40-90 days per club statutes (Dec 6-Jan 25)

Nevertheless, this is a great day - better days yet ahead. Again, there is no question massive credit to socis and those behind MesQueUnaMocio who deserve to get so much credit but undoubtedly Messi's interview tipped the scales in favor of this happening - he is our leader. What he does next will be up to him and no candidate will do anything to undermine the club legend but rather give him an exit he deserves & has earned or reward his faith with an extension if he so chooses

What he does next will be predicated on what the new board can put together but I think it's a clear victory for Cruyffism and an indictment of the conservative base. I believe club legends will finally return to the club and rally to turn things around

Great, great, great day.
I hope they have deep pockets because financially you are in a mess.

Next President will file lawsuits against Bartomeu & Rosell - they will not have to assume the disastrous decisions they took, it is also part of the club statutes and what they must be contracted to be responsible for even in resignation

There is work to do but bright days ahead

Bartomeu in his resignation speech tonight had the audacity to tout a deal he recently made for a European Super League (This will never be approved by the club)

And how long does it take for all that, I heard you needed a £800 million loan, can they pay that? Curious how all this works.

Bartomeu going isn’t gonna make Barca any better is it
Messi is still gonna waste next three years if he stays
He looks burned out and in need of change

A lot to work out, there are rumours Barto made some sort of deal with Goldman Sachs regarding the loan but this could also be undone due to no major decisions being permissible during a censure motion or pending election. So, will have to wait for the dust to clear - the key, of course, is that Bartomeu will not be making any of those decisions

Hopefully this is the end of this nonsense now. Had we signed him in the summer it would have made sense given he'd have covered 2 serious gaps in our squad, i.e. another attacking midfielder and an extra striker. Next season he'll be a year older and I'll be much less convinced. Hopefully we focus on bringing in a couple of young but proven forwards/midfielders instead.
