Well that’s not what I said.

There is some sentiment in giving Aguero another 12 months but he’s not 37 is he. If he stays fit he’ll be 2nd choice striker to whoever we sign in the summer.

There is also sentiment in keeping Gabby. We’d be keeping him because he’s a likeable player but we all know he isn’t going to bang in 30 league goals for us.

If I had to show a ruthless streak (knowing we’re going to sign a first choice striker anyway) then Jesus would be out. At least we know a fit Aguero will score goals. A fit Jesus doesnt.
Sergio's scored 30 league goals for us exactly ...zero times? It's not worth getting into it here over Jesus but he is as good a second choice striker that you'll find anywhere in the world. And given the option of having him around at a reasonable salary or Aguero at 33 years old, coming off the injury and year he's had, the only reason you'd choose Aguero is sentiment.

Aguero has scored over 250 goals for us and in that time has always struggled with injuries but always still banged them in every season. He will still score goals when he returns.

Or would you prefer to see a 33 year old Aguero go to Paris and bang them in for PSG while we’re still plodding along hoping Gabby will come good just because he’s 23?

Keeping Jesus because he’s a good 2nd choice but knowing he’ll never be 1st choice, is like staying with a girl who you know you’ll never end up marrying. Absolutely pointless and you could be looking elsewhere.

One scores goals, the other doesn’t

Neither will be 1st choice next season but if you’re asking me do I want Aguero or Jesus providing competition for (hopefully Haaland) next season then it’s a no brainier.

Everything I’ve just caught up on sounds great, however in my mind always falls down when reminding ourselves that we are the world’s worst selling club.

Looking forward to us moving on Mahrez, Mendy et al.

We’ve even thrown away £10/15mil by keeping Garcia just because we wanted to be awkward, lol.

He just scored a match winner and vital goal against S. united . Come end of the season we‘ll see how valuable was that 3 points and will impact the outcome of everything concern moving forward next season.
No denying he’s scored some important goals but (and has just bagged v Burnley) but should do far better

Why do people always argue in bad faith like this.

It's a discussion about who is second choice to Haaland next season, Jesus or Aguero. You know this it's in the comments you replied to.
I’ve got every right to, it’s a football forum last time I checked?

Im putting my point across as to why I’d keep Aguero over Jesus....providing thats ok with you of course?

Back on planet earth ,gabby does not get fourty goals ,he has had a year to step up

Losing sane is the worst thing we have done
Sane doesn't get 40 goals either. What a ridiculous post. How is he getting on in Bayern, oh yeah, still a mard arse being publically called out and contributed 4 goals so far.
When you come at the king, you better not miss.

I believe our board's aim to be still true and good.

The publishing of Messi's financial package clearly had multifaceted objectives.

To bracket Messi and also justify to the Barcelona supporters why he must be allowed to leave, whilst also deligitimising his next destination, posing questions of that club's funding ability to justify it.

More so City than PSG, due to recent relations.

New York can't do this without City, City can't do it without New York, certainly if he intends to play at the top level for another couple of years.

Paris has its obvious attractions from a lifestyle perspective, as does the fact he can get a direct flight from CDG to Buenos Aires, something Sergio already has to avail himself of, each time he wants to go home.

All the same, City need to emerge from the post-Covid era with the best possible chance to ramp up revenues, while also remaining competitive for Pep during his own three years left at the club.

Perhaps Messi is a Hail Mary for many different reasons inside City, certainly if it also means Pep winning the Champions League during his remaining tenure here?

I'd say all roads still lead to Messi unless he decides otherwise.

We could only afford him last summer if he walked away for free and he wasn't talking to Paris then, so why should things be any different.

Our unique selling point wasn't and isn't purely about money, he can get that and more from other places.

It's about environment, enjoying it, perhaps with people he trusts and have always respected his own wishes.
Honestly, if Messi leaves and goes to PSG I will really lose any respect for him. What does he gain going there? a billion euros for being the face of Qatar 2022 alongside Neymar?

I thought he wanted a sporting challenge and quite frankly we are the only club in the world that can offer him what he wants, he has everything he could possibly want here. Like Pep, City has been molded to suit Messi.

The CFG side of the deal is unique, he goes from City and drops into the biggest sporting market in the world as NYCFC's superstar player. I am sure his old pal David Villa can recommend a few restaurants also!
