Yeah their revenue was hyper inflating back then due to la ligas growth and the Messi Ronaldo effect, it's plateaued now and will arguably fall off with COVID/ worse results/ Ronaldo gone from Madrid etc. They seem to have been planning on it growing and spending accordingly.The world was different then they also hadn’t forked out nearly half billion players then shit hit the fan with covid.

I do wonder what's going on at that club, yeah they've signed some real shite in defence but they still have a superb midfield and forward line, might be more of a coaching problem or player unrest.Not winning it with him either to be honest they’re absolutely shite

I wouldn't say superb midfield and attack. Coutinho, Dembele are shite and De Jong has been inconsistent, Busquests is shite and Pedri whilst very promising lacks experience. Fati is excellent but he is injured. And on top of this, Messi not totally motivated as he wants out.
All of this is further compounded by having average manager in Koeman + shite defence.

That's my point though, none of those players are shite, we know that. They may be playing badly yes but they're not shite. The quality drops away in La Liga past the top 3, so a shite Barca is likely to finish 3rd anyway. So it's a funny one. Look at Liverpool for how brutal the PL is.
As for Messi - If Barca are as financially bolloxed as all evidence suggests then there is no way he stays (or the only way he stays is if he takes a monumental drop in salary). Its likely his last season after this so he can pick what he wants, he will be offered silly money because of the hype he would bring to a new club. It could be as much a lifestyle choice as anything else - and i'm not sure PSG have much to offer on that front (Paris is a grim shit hole in comparison to Barcelona).
Re him playing for us. It would be great for the club off the field - the hype would be great. But he doesn't make us massively better as a football side when you consider current form. So i'm not arsed either way.
