it seems messi is staying at barca until 2023 which yet again begs the question how are barca affording to do all this? Their wages are nearly double the la liga salary cap limit and have added aguero, garcia and depay who arent playing for free?!?

They just took out another 500m loan. They will always be propped up and loaned money, without issues.

wasnt that loan though to pay outstanding transfer fees and wages mate?

If you believe what Barcelona say.

Maybe, they may use that 500m loan to pay current wages, then instead use their other earlier 850m loan to pay upcoming new wages of new signings. I'm sure those cules know how to shuffle it all about.

I would imagine a key consideration in giving them the latest loan would have been assurance of continued Messi's marketability with the club. OR, assurance over the removal of his wages from their bill.

yes

it wasnt for any new signings, stadium development or squad development....all to pay off existing debt including wages.....

If you are Messi and see the club being run this way (as opposed to the way we are run) it must surely raise at least a question in his mind
