Because its pretty clearly against the rules.

And I dont see how they can resign him without that being waived.

Tebas is a prick but he's also a Madrid fan who has no love for Barca and pretty good at looking after the other 18.

Do you have any sense of how much salary they need to shed to be within the rules? I've just been assuming they'll eventually find someone to take an overpaid player or two off their hands if the price is low enough/zero. Would that do it?

They need to shed about 40%, according to reports. Thats just the wages.
 
Isn't he currently losing out on wages though? If he's going to sign in a week or two that's the best part of 1.5m not in his bank accounts. What am I missing?
