Amazing that some of our fans were arguing against signing Messi when it looked like he had a chance with his problems at Barca. For me, he’s still the best, better than Mbappe. He makes teams greater than the sum of their parts, whereas the Mbappes and Ronaldos, great players though they are, need to have everything set up for them as the focal point of a team. And France are lucky, they have another (Griezmann) who can assume the mantle, if Mbappe is marked out of the game.
