It's not happening. Maybe if Neymar hadn't gone to PSG, but now Barca simply can't part ways with Messi (the board wouldn't survive) and they now have the financial clout to ensure he's well compensated.

That said, I could see Messi wanting to jump ship. Another Balon d'Or for Fake Ronaldo and another year of Madrid in pole position, it's his last chance and it wouldn't shock me if he's stalling on signing the deal he verbally agreed to in the hopes his release clause can be met.

Believe it or not, there are some posters here who legitimately don't want City to buy the best player in the history of football. Rags, mostly, but still.

They are all jumping ship..

INIESTA'S 'STRANGE FEELINGS'

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has cast doubt on his future with the Catalan club after an interview with El Pais in which he reveals 'strange feelings'.

"Right now, I have still not signed a new contract," the 33 year-old midfielder said. "I have felt many strange feelings for the first time, but I think this may be normal.

"This is a scenario that, probably three years ago, I could never have imagined. Let's say that I sometimes ask myself about me future when I didn't do it before."

Mundo Deportivo also running the same story but quoting the Canal +

"Last Friday was Khaldoon Al Mubarak , president of the English club, who announced that City would make the most expensive signing in the history of the entity before closing the market on September 1"

Seems they were more gullible than us fans :D

I'd still think you'd need a year before things really sour at Barca before he decides to hit the "Fuck it" button.

But he'd be our c**t

He's an infatuation, if there's anything we should of learned since the proposed Barca cloning, is that we need to diversify from the blueprint.... regardless of commercial gains, we should be aiming for long term, that means spending the bastard money on a decent centre back and certainly not Johny Evans!!

There's no way a deal would be struck in 2 weeks for the worlds greatest ever footballer imo...

I don't think there's any chance he leaves Barca, but City have been after him (and allegedly had money set aside solely for him) for years.

Now Bartomeu confirmed he had agreed to renew his contract over a month ago, yet an official announcement hasn't been made. Surely now, more than ever (off the back of losing Neymar, only signing Spuds reject Paulinho and flopping twice in a row pathetically to Madrid) would be the ideal time to laud this news and generate positive press/reassure fans? Yet they aren't.

Something's up.
