Obviously there's a bit of poker going on, if Barca officials believe Messi won't sign a new contract then they'd be looking to extort a large fee out of him this summer. Imagine losing Messi on a free transfer, you'd never live it down. I personally believe he'll stay and sign a new contract (safest guess) but I'm enjoying being linked with him. Us actually speaking to his representatives is something.
