I might be reading too much in to it, but would be good to hear your thoughts on this.Pep is always very clear when it comes to rumours involving Barcelona & never feeds into it unless it's more than likely to occur

Every time City have been linked with Messi in the past, Pep has shut it down straight away. "No chance, I've said many times." etc.
This time his immediate reaction to the question about Messi was "We will talk about transfers in the summer". Which to me was a marked difference from his usual reply.
He obviously followed it up with "My wish is that Messi stays with Barcelona". But could that not be a bit of a dig towards the current board?
It seems clear that if Messi does want to leave, it is because of the current board. Pep obviously has no love for the current board.
So Pep saying "We'll speak about transfers in the summer, my wish is that Messi stays at Barcelona", couldn't it be read as City are interested and if Messi wants to leave Barcelona, it's because of this current board.
Thanks mate, it’s easy to read too much in to things.Agree
Certainly
Pep is precise in his press conferences and isn't prone to mixed messaging, not often he leaves it open for interpretation. Ultimately you could read any of his comments in a variety of ways
Definitely. Even if it was a ploy by Messi to apply pressure on the board, I could equally see Pep doing little to defuse the rumour due to their shared disdain of the board
