No it doesn't. There's a few players going to be coming off the books whose wages and amortisation would pay for him. Milner, Barry & Lescott would free up something like £300k a week/£15m a year in wages and £12m a year in amortisation alone. That wouldn't cover all of it but it wouldn't be that far short and we'd easily make up the extra in commercial income.

I think I've posted before that I reckon that Messi would actually only incur an extra £10-12m a year additional cost.
